Judges

Chuck Dodson is a musician, filmmaker, writer, and visual artist. He was born in Hot Springs.
Lovie Roe-Andreev is a long time volunteer for the community in many areas. Art, food, pageants and more. A social butterfly that is a member of the Arts Foundation. She is a former host/chef of the long running local cooking show "In The Kitchen" with plans to return to the media scene soon.

Michelle Sestili drinks milk out of the carton, likes mixing her food, has performed all of Mozart's horn concertos, and plays drums... not Neil Peart drums, more Meg White kind of drums, but drums.

Max SestiliSinger, songwriter, guitarist, drummer and Hot Springs resident Max Sestili started on his father’s drum kit as a toddler, formed his first band as a guitarist in middle school, and has been playing ever since. Many bands, stages and states later he performs locally with tribute bands Kinisi Komodo (Led Zeppelin) and The Solar Federation (Rush), and the original trio Bizarro Buddha. Quicksand changes in mode and tempo and razor blazing lyrics about life’s experiences set the unique tone for his rock, folk, grunge and progressive fused style. Loves to eat.

Southern born singer/songwriter Amyjo Savannah has a signature, soulful timber & deep, powerful resonance to her wide-ranging vocals. Singing in styles reminiscent of Tom Waits & Robbie Basho. Her writing is equally dynamic & heartfelt. A combination that showcases her illustrative storyteller delivery. While she has yet to release a full album, Savannah has written hundreds of songs over the last 16+ years.
Amyjo Savannah has opened for Sammy Hagar, Garth Hudson (of The Band), Vince Mira, and Nina Storey. She has played at Sundance Film Festival three years running performing at The Star Bar & The Gibson Lounge in 2009,2010 & 2011. As well as performing at the 2010 High Times Doobie Awards at SXSW, and The Showbox in Seattle. From 2008 to 2009 She curated "Estrogen", an all female performance evening at The Can Can Cabaret & in December of 2008 was named "Northwest Discovery" in Seattle's Sound Magazine.

I asked Karmyn Lei for a Bio and a Picture. She is one of the contestants in Summerfest Uptown's Battle of the Bands. I love her response and you will too. Meet Kermyn Lei:
"I'm 15, almost 16, and I'm a singer who is going for it! I'm extremely motivated, head strong, and I'm told I'm very talented. I'm from Hot Springs, AR. I'm never going to give up my dream, so with that being said I'm NOT going to quit until I make it big. This festival is how I'm going to officially start my journey. I'm really excited about it!"

Notice to Quit is a three-piece rock band consisting of Hot Springs natives Aaron Mann, Allison Bettis, and Van Oliver. We are currently recording an EP, although we will have a few more demo tracks available soon via social media. Notice to Quit's genre is best described as alternative rock with punk and shoe gaze influences.

And a special award was presented to Louis from Next Level BBQ. If you have read our Facebook page you know that SummerFest was created to bring positive attention to our beautiful Park Avenue. This makes it obvious that those of us on Park Avenue have a lot to gain from all of the hard work that goes in to creating this Festival. Louis tho, does not own a business or property on Park nor does he live anywhere near it. Yet Louis has been a part of our committee since our very first Festival in June of 2014. And I have come to believe that the smells from his BBQ Smoker wafting up and down Park Avenue, is what is enticing all of Hot Springs to come and check out SummerFest Uptown!! Thanks Louis!
